La Quinta Corporation Reports Status of Hotels Impacted By Hurricane Katrina

DALLAS, Aug. 31 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- La Quinta Corporation (NYSE:LQI) continues to work with local authorities to monitor the status of its hotels affected by Hurricane Katrina and provide for its guests and employees as best as conditions allow.

As of 5:00 p.m. (CDT) Wednesday, August 31, the following eight company- owned hotels in the greater New Orleans area are closed and will be unable to accept reservations until further notice:

New Orleans Causeway - Metarie
New Orleans West Bank - Gretna
New Orleans Veterans - Metarie
New Orleans Crowder
New Orleans Bullard
New Orleans Slidell
New Orleans Airport - Kenner
New Orleans Downtown - Camp Street

None of the Company's franchised locations in the area are currently closed. However, some of the Company's franchise units under construction in the Florida and Gulf Coast regions were impacted, which may affect those properties' scheduled opening dates.

For families of guests trying to locate current and evacuated guests, please call La Quinta's Hurricane Emergency Assistance number at 1-866-328-1759 and we will try to assist in locating missing persons.

We are requesting that employees from the hotels listed above who have not yet checked in with their general managers please call a separate number, 1-866-328-1746 as soon as they can.

The Company's hotels outside the New Orleans area are open and are primarily accommodating displaced residents as well as rescue and relief personnel. Individuals who have existing reservations, or who are planning to travel in the following states and/or specific cities and stay at a La Quinta or Baymont property, are encouraged to call the Company's toll-free reservations number to ensure they can be accommodated. La Quinta's toll-free reservation number is 1-800-531-5900 and Baymont's toll-free reservation number is 1-877-BAYMONT.

In addition to the support and assistance the Company is providing to its employees and displaced residents of the affected areas, the Company is making a direct cash donation to the American Red Cross for immediate disaster relief and recovery.
