Laffing Sal Launches the ‘First Laff of the Season’ at Her New Home on the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk

SANTA CRUZ, Calif., May 27 /PRNewswire/ — Laffing Sal, the historic 6 ft. tall, 1930′s era robotic woman from San Francisco’s lost amusement park, Playland-at-the-Beach, is back!

In her typical raucous manner, Laffing Sal sent her famous cackle echoing across the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk today signaling the opening of the 98th summer season of daily operation at the West Coast’s only major seaside amusement park.

Crisply dressed in a new costume, a replica of her original skirt, jacket and wig, the mechanical redhead with the maniacal laugh led visitors and dignitaries in sidesplitting, infectious laughter.

In addition to Laffing Sal, guests at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk will enjoy more than 35 rides and attractions, games, restaurants, shops, miniature golf, bowling, a mile-long white, sandy beach plus new additions and treasured traditions everyday through September 5.
