The Puerto Rico Tourism Company Spices up the 7th Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards
Celebrates Latin Culture & Awards Nominees With Exclusive Events in New York City
SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico, Oct. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- This year, the 7th Annual Latin GRAMMY(R) Awards to be held in New York City, will be celebrated with a series of events that highlight the unique cuisine, high-end fashion, rich culture and history of Puerto Rico, and encourage travelers to "Explore Beyond the Shore." The Puerto Rico Tourism Company (PRTC) has joined forces with the Latin Recording Academy and NYC Big Events to host exclusive "Latin GRAMMY(R) Week" festivities leading up to The Latin GRAMMY(R) Awards broadcast live from Madison Square Garden on November 2.
A Sparkling Evening Celebrating Fashion and the Latin GRAMMY(R) Awards will take place October 30 at the internationally-renowned jeweler, The House of Harry Winston, to honor today's top Latin fashion influencers. This private event will be attended by leading Latin designers Narciso Rodriguez, Carolina Herrera and Oscar De La Renta, as well as up and coming Puerto Rican designers Lisa Thon and Carlos Alberto.
Experience Authentic Puerto Rican Cuisine with Puerto Rican celebrity chef Daisy Martinez on Tuesday, October 31, 2006 at the Sofrito restaurant in midtown Manhattan. Martinez will heat up Latin GRAMMY(R) Week with an afternoon of Latin flavors as she performs a few of the traditional cooking techniques regularly featured on her "Daisy Cooks!" television show. Mofongo, a traditional Puerto Rican dish made of plantains will be served among other authentic specialties.
Celebrate the Rich Culture and History of Puerto Rico on Wednesday, November 1, 2006 with an evening of Puerto Rican music and art at the Sheraton New York Hotel & Towers. Special invited guests will enjoy a live performance by Latin GRAMMY(R) nominee Quique Domenech.
