Lufthansa Celebrates 40 Years of Boston Service with Special $421 Anniversary Fare

BOSTON, April 4 /PRNewswire/ -- 40 years and one day ago today, Lufthansa flight LH 421 took off from Boston Logan, offering New England travelers the first nonstop link between Boston and Frankfurt, Germany. The then-twice-per- week service today includes three daily flights to Frankfurt, Munich and beyond -- connecting some 5,000 Bostonians per week with the world.

To celebrate the 40th anniversary of flight LH 421, Lufthansa has announced a special online fare of *$421 round-trip for travel between Boston and top European destinations during the month of April. Lufthansa and local Massport officials gathered at Logan International Airport this afternoon to celebrate the anniversary with departing passengers, who received stainless-steel anniversary luggage tags and a water gun salute from the Logan Fire Department.

Fares are shown in U.S. dollars for Economy Class travel on Lufthansa or United Airlines. Saturday night stay required and maximum stay is 14 days. Tickets may be purchased between April 4 and April 10, 2005. Outbound travel must take place between April 4 and April 30, 2005, with the latest return on May 15, 2005. Fares are round-trip based on midweek travel; weekend surcharges apply. Fares are subject to change without notice and are based on the most direct routing to each destination. Additional transfers will increase the fare. Fares do not include fees, taxes and airport charges up to $176, including the September 11th Security Fee of a maximum of $10 per round trip.
