'Marilyn Monroe: The Exhibit' to Board the Queen Mary November 11, 2005 - February 18, 2006

LONG BEACH, Calif., Oct. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- In what will be the first official stop of a world tour, "Marilyn Monroe: The Exhibit," will make its debut November 11, 2005 aboard the Queen Mary and will continue until February 18, 2006. Presented in the Sundeck Exhibit area aboard the historic ocean liner, this exhibit will feature the world's largest private collection of Marilyn Monroe artifacts ever assembled. The exhibit will be open daily from Noon to 8 p.m. and tickets are $22.95/Adult (exhibit only) or $33.95/Adult (includes the Ghosts & Legends of the Queen Mary show, two guided tours, and admission to the Russian submarine).

The Exhibit features an extensive list of objects from the collection of Robert W. Otto, President and CEO of Marilyn Monroe Exhibits, who is a renowned and widely acclaimed International collector, curator and historical expert on America's foremost icon and treasure, Marilyn Monroe. Mr. Otto has been collecting Marilyn artifacts and belongings for over 37 years. He has assembled one of the most thorough and extensive collections imaginable. Almost every aspect of Marilyn's life has been captured and detailed. This stunning collection boasts over 3,000 objects, many of which will be on display.

The Exhibit will offer an intimate look into the mysterious and intriguing life of this Hollywood legend. Objects include Marilyn Monroe's personal property, from sweaters and jeans, bathing suits and lingerie, evening gowns and dresses, to her jewelry, sunglasses and favorite bottles of perfume. Other featured items include a 60-piece Marilyn Monroe doll collection, an extensive Marilyn-monikered wine assortment, and a portion of the compilation of over 400 international magazines in which Marilyn appeared on the cover. A portion of the exhibit documents the relationship and love story between Marilyn and onetime husband Joe DiMaggio.

"This collection is so spectacular that just putting it in some museum would have been a great injustice. It needed a home that shares some of the same qualities that Marilyn herself exhibited: Elegance, Class, Sophistication, Grandeur and Glamour. That place, unequivocally, is the Queen Mary," said Robert Otto.
