NILES, Ill., April 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Marina Dock Age magazine will present its 2004 "Marina of the Year" award to MacRay Harbor, Harrison Township, Michigan at a launch day party on April 29, 2005.

S. Tinsley Preston, president and owner of Preston Publications, which publishes Marina Dock Age, will present the award to MacRay Harbor's Ray Nicholson, president, Steve Remias, vice president, and Bill Chamberlain, director of marina operations.

The award acknowledges the marina for its outstanding customer service, which makes MacRay Harbor a top-notch family resort and marina in the Great Lakes, along with its state-of-the art amenities and proactive customer- management relationships.

MacRay is barely 16 years old, but it is constantly making upgrades, expansions, and advancements to please the boating enthusiast. The marina's ultimate goal is to serve the entire family, offering outstanding customer service to each and every customer who visits the marina, including kids. "We have a Kids Day event every summer," Remias said. "We'll have game booths with prizes, an arcade, and a moonwalk for jumping. We want them to feel at home."

While other marinas talk about being environmental stewards, MacRay harbor lives this commitment on a daily basis. The marina won Macomb County's Clean Marina Award in 2000 and was instrumental in having a statewide Clean Marina Program implemented this year.

Over the years, MacRay Harbor worked diligently to get customer feedback and respond to it in a timely fashion, Remias said. This past summer, for example, the marina installed WiFi Internet services for all members, along with a service hotline number.

In commenting on MacRay Harbor's operations, Preston said, "This marina focuses on providing superior customer service that results in a profitable business and plenty of satisfied boaters."

Marina Dock Age magazine is the leading trade publication serving marina owners and operators across the United States. It is owned by Preston Publications, Inc., Niles, IL, and is one of five company publications.

MacRay Harbor is a 624-slip marina, 41 of which are dedicated to daily/weekly rentals and 79 of which are enclosed, heated slips within one- and two-bedroom condominium units. It features an impressive banquet and conference center, a bistro-style dining facility, and three swimming pools. The marina is an active member of the Michigan Boating Industries Association, 32398 Five Mile Rd., Livonia, MI 48154. Van Snider W. Snider, Jr., CAE is MBIA's president, and he can be reached at 734/261-0123 or via email: vsnider@mbia.org .
