Marriott Vacation Club Announces Opening of Newest Hilton Head Island Resort
HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C., June 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Marriott Vacation Club International (MVCI), the vacation ownership division of Marriott International, Inc. (NYSE:MAR) , announced today the opening of the company's eighth resort on Hilton Head Island, S.C. Set on one of the last remaining beachfront parcels on the island, Marriott's SurfWatch includes 195 two- and three-bedroom villas at build-out on 31 acres of seaside dunes and moss- covered live oaks.
Marriott's SurfWatch offers spacious, vacation villas that combine Hilton Head Island's distinctive Southern charm with all the comforts of home. Prices range from $7,900 to $64,400 per week of deeded ownership, depending on villa type and season purchased.
"The addition of Marriott's SurfWatch to our portfolio marks an exceptional milestone for us," said Stephen P. Weisz, president of Marriott Vacation Club International. "We welcomed our first Marriott Vacation Club owners to Hilton Head more than 21 years ago, and today we are opening yet another spectacular resort. The entire property is masterfully nestled amongst the island's natural surroundings creating a beautiful resort atmosphere, but without disturbing the ecology of the region."
Villas range from 1,275 to 1,623 square feet of living space comfortably accommodating up to eight guests in the three-bedroom floor plan. Villas include a fully-equipped kitchen featuring granite counters and wood flooring, casually elegant living and dining areas, washer and dryer, multiple televisions including a Sony TV, a DVD and a balcony offering ocean or garden views.
