PHOENIX, Sept. 9 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Mesa Air Group, Inc. (NASDAQ:MESA) , and the Mesa Angels Foundation today announced the formation of the Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund with a goal of raising $1,000,000 for the victims effected by the storm. Hurricane Katrina has devastated much of the Gulf Coast and is already being called one of the worst natural disasters in U.S. history. As a result, Mesa Air Group, along with its senior management team, in conjunction with the Mesa Angels Foundation have teamed up to provide relief to victims of Hurricane Katrina. From September 9, 2005 until September 16, 2005, all donations up to $500,000 received by the Mesa Angels Foundation, a non-profit charitable 501(c)(3) organization operated by unpaid volunteers from Mesa Air Group will receive a 100% matching contribution. The matching contributions will be funded 50% by Mesa Air Group, 25% from Mesa's senior management team and an additional 25% match from Jonathan Ornstein, Mesa's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, and Mike Lotz, Mesa's President and Chief Operating Officer. One hundred percent of the funds donated will be contributed to relief organizations directly involved in Hurricane Katrina recovery efforts.

"While the storm may have passed, the magnitude of its impact is only beginning to be understood. All of us at Mesa and the Mesa Angels Foundation feel it is important to do 'our part' to help in the much needed relief efforts. We felt the challenge to raise one million dollars through matching contributions would encourage others to help us reach our goal. Our five thousand hard working employees would like to thank you in advance for your consideration of this worthy cause," said Jonathan Ornstein, Chairman and Chief Executive of Mesa Air Group. "Mesa has also created 100 jobs at our Company which we will offer to Hurricane Katrina evacuees," continued Ornstein.
