Celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival With The Peninsula Connoisseur Mooncakes Now on Sale in Taiwan

HONG KONG, Aug. 22 /Xinhua-PRNewswire/ — In time for the Mid-Autumn Festival which falls on 18 September this year, The Peninsula Hotels is once again featuring its celebrated Peninsula Connoisseur range of gourmet mooncakes — a long-time favourite in Hong Kong — in its Peninsula Boutiques and selected retail outlets throughout Asia, including nine top department stores in Taiwan.

From “connaissance”, the French word for knowledge, the Oxford English Dictionary defines a connoisseur as “A person with a thorough knowledge and critical judgment of a subject, especially on the fine arts, an expert in any matters of taste, e.g. wines, foods”.

Based on the exclusive recipe originating at The Peninsula Hong Kong in 1986, the light mini egg custard mooncake is a contemporary take on the traditional filling of lotus paste and duck egg yolk. However, for traditionalists, a version made with light golden lotus seed with egg yolk is also available.

The Peninsula Connoisseur mooncakes are on sale for NT$650 per box of eight mini egg custard and NT$720 per box of eight mini assorted mooncakes at the following locations:
