Catch a Glimpse of Nipper at Moorestown Mall, Monday, September 19 – Sunday, October 9

All 30 Dogs on Display Under One Roof During Final Month in Town as Part of The Nipper 2005 Public Art and Fundraising Project

MOORESTOWN, N.J., Sept. 6 /PRNewswire/ — The dog days of summer are nearing an end – in more ways than one in Moorestown this year. All 30 Nipper statues, the subject of a summer-long public art and fundraising project will spend their final month on display at Moorestown Mall. From Monday, September 19 – Sunday, October 9 the dogs will be under one roof for public viewing.

Thirty fine art sculptures of Nipper, the famed trademark of the Victor Co. and later RCA, have been in Moorestown since June as part of the Nipper Project. The project highlights the town’s connection to former resident and Victor Talking Machine Co. founder, Eldridge Johnson. Nipper graced the cover of Johnson’s early recordings on his “Victor” label.

The project benefits five Moorestown nonprofits: Moorestown’s Community House, a community center; Perkins Center for the Arts, providing creative opportunities for all ages; The Evergreens, a Continuing Care Retirement Community; the Moorestown Historical Society; and the Lutheran Home at Moorestown, former home of Eldridge R. Johnson, now a healthcare facility serving all faiths.

“We are thrilled to be affiliated with this project and look forward to the dogs move to the mall,” says Brian Gardiner, Moorestown Mall general manager. “This project showcases many of the reasons Moorestown truly is a great place to live and shop. We are proud to host these events and work with Moorestown’s nonprofit community.”

On Sunday, October 9, the mall will auction all 30 Nippers at a Gala event to benefit the five Moorestown nonprofits.
