The Moorings Adds Five New Cruise Destinations in Italy

Italian Charter Industry Leader, Sailitalia, Is Newest Moorings Preferred Partner

CLEARWATER, Fla., April 19 /PRNewswire/ — The Moorings, the world’s premier yacht charter company, announced the expansion of its worldwide cruising destinations to include Italy with the addition of Sailitalia as a Moorings Preferred Partner. The partnership adds five new Italian locations for Moorings sailors: the island of Procida, Palermo and Portorosa in Sicily, Palau in Sardinia and Vibo Valentia on the southwest Italian coast. The Sailitalia agreement increases The Moorings’ offerings to 41 locations around the world.

Based in Procida, just off Italy’s beautiful Amalfi coast, Sailitalia has become the third Moorings Preferred Partner. “Sailitalia is the undisputed charter industry leader in Italy with four bases and over 35 yachts. They have built this reputation through 25 years of excellent service to their customers,” commented Raul Bermudez, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for The Moorings. “We are very proud to offer our customers the beautiful cruising grounds of this Mediterranean destination through such a quality company,” he added.

“Becoming a member of The Moorings family is a natural fit for our company, given The Moorings’ reputation as the world’s premier yacht charter company,” commented Domenico Longobardo, General Manager of Sailitalia. “Both our companies will benefit from this collaboration. The Moorings’ customers will now be able to explore the beautiful waters of the Lipari, Aegadian and Pontine islands and our local customers will now have access to the 41 locations offered by The Moorings.”

Italy – A Mediterranean Sailing Paradise

Procida’s charm is the ideal starting point for your charter to the Pontine islands or Amalfi coast and untouched by the mass tourism attracted to neighboring islands Capri and Ishcia. Vibo Valentia on the Calabrian coast of Italy is an excellent location from which to discover eastern Sicily and is home to one of Calabria’s finest castles.

To the west of Sicily, Palermo offers the cruising grounds of the Aegadian islands, Malta and Tunisia, while Portorosa in the east lies just a short sail from the magical Lipari islands. Lastly, Palau on Sardinia is situated in the heart of the Maddlena Archipel, described as a sailing paradise. It’s just a stone’s throw away from the famous Emerald coast with its magnificent sandy white beaches and crystal-clear waters, the Straits of Bonifacio and Corsica’s savage coastline and wonderful landscape. The Moorings will offer 35 yachts in Italy ranging in size from 31 feet to 52 feet. One-way charters are also available between the five locations.
