NEW YORK, NY -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 04/28/2005 -- If you'd like to order the new dessert, "Flights of Fancy," at the Commodore Grill, the Grand Hyatt New York is asking you to please bring your I.D.

Executive Chef Anthony Arbeeny's newest confection concoction combines two after-dinner edible favorites --dessert and alcohol. Desserts with an essence of alcohol are not new to the restaurant industry, but Chef Anthony Arbeeny has taken his creation one step beyond mainstream. His new dessert has an alcohol content of 80 proof, which requires you to show identification of eligibility when ordering.

The dessert features strawberries and miniature marbled pound cake with a specialty blended dipping chocolate. These unique morsels have been infused with a 1/4 shot of Navan, Grand Marnier's newest French cognac lightly touched with black vanilla beans from Madagascar. Chef Arbeeny skillful "center-soaks" the strawberries and the pound cake. The flavors marinate from the inside out producing an amazing combination that is the perfect after-dinner experience.

"My first impression was that the dessert is surprisingly smooth," said Executive Chef Arbeeny. "The Navan combines so naturally with the strawberries and pound cake you can't differentiate the elements in each bite." He adds, "It completely grabs my attention, because it's an interactive dessert. It is visually pleasing in addition to delightfully tasting."

Executive Chef Anthony Arbeeny is internationally renowned for his cuisine and extensive experience in the culinary industry. He is the recipient of numerous industry awards, including a silver medal in both the 1984 and 1988 International Culinary Olympics in Frankfurt, Germany, gold medals in both 1990 and 1991 in the American Culinary Federation Food Show, and a silver medal in the 6th Annual Sebastian Kneip Dietetic Competition in Germany in 1985. In addition, "Awards of the Americas" named him Chef of the Year for 2000. A Brooklyn native, Arbeeny is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America in New York.
