New Southern Tanzania Tourism Products Launched

From June 2006 two new products will be launched in the southern Tanzania tourism industry - a luxury private mobile tented camp in Selous Game Reserve, and set departure safaris from Dar es Salaam

Dar es Salaam, Tanzania (PRWEB) January 30, 2006 -- The Dar es Salaam based tour operator Authentic Tanzania will be launching two innovative new products in June for the upcoming 2006-07 tourist season in southern Tanzania.

1. Luxury Mobile Camp in Selous Game Reserve

The mobile camp will be sited strategically according to the seasons in private campsites within Selous Game Reserve. A support vehicle and professionally qualified team of staff will provide personal service and the camp will cater to a maximum of 4 and a minimum of 2 guests offering exclusivity in one of Africa’s last true wilderness areas.

The large walk-in tents offer all the comfort of a permanent camp with single or double beds, bed linen, tables and chairs and en suite toilet and shower facilities ensuring that guests do not have to venture outside the tent to use the bathroom at night.
Meals will be taken at a variety of locations outside with dinner under the stars, or in the mess tent with full waiter service.
The head guide trained in South Africa and Zimbabwe and is now conducting on going training for Tanzanian guides to a similar standard. Safari activities will be discussed in detail with the guests on arrival but there will be special emphasis on walking safaris and exploring the diverse environment of the Selous on foot. Game drives in an open sided 4x4 vehicle will complement the foot safaris.

The camp is best suited to wildlife enthusiasts seeking a private wilderness safari experience with specialist guiding, professional service, and an appreciation of the luxurious creature comforts provided in a remote authentic tented camp.

2. South Tanzania Circuit Budget Safari

In June 2006 Authentic Tanzania will launch the first set departure southern circuit safari in Tanzania which does not backtrack over the same route. The itinerary is aimed at the budget market to help increase awareness of the great diversity of the little visited southern areas of Tanzania for those who cannot afford a luxury lodge safari.

Two set departure itineraries from Dar es Salaam will run throughout the season. The southern circuit budget safaris offer a train ride through Selous Game Reserve, hiking in Udzungwa Mountains, game viewing in Mikumi National Park and Selous Game Reserve and the option of an extension to sail by dhow to the well preserved ruins on the island of Kilwa Kisiwani.
