American Airlines to Resume Seasonal Nonstop Service From New York to Rome on April 3

NEW YORK, March 29 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- American Airlines will link the "City That Never Sleeps" with the "Eternal City" when it resumes seasonal nonstop service from New York's Kennedy International Airport to Rome, Italy, on Sunday, April 3.

American will fly the JFK-Rome route daily through October using Boeing 767 aircraft configured with 30 spacious Business Class seats and 189 seats in the Main Cabin. Rome is one of five key European destinations American serves nonstop from New York, along with Brussels, London, Paris and Zurich.

"There's perhaps no more exciting city in the world than New York and no place more timeless than Rome, and American's nonstop service brings these two unique destinations within hours of each other," said Tom Gleason, Eastern Regional Vice President for Sales at American. "Along with the convenience, American also offers AAdvantage travel reward miles, great in-flight service and affordable fares."

In flight, passengers will enjoy American's award-winning International Flagship Service, featuring a selection of dining, beverage and entertainment options. In addition, Business Class passengers will have access to a number of other amenities for use at their convenience, including powerports at each seat. Powerports are available in the Main Cabin at selected seats.

On the ground, customers traveling to and from Kennedy Airport will soon experience American Airlines new $1.1 billion terminal. The new terminal will cover nearly 1.4 million square feet, providing passengers with the newest, most convenient and spacious terminal at JFK.

Along with its service to Rome and other European destinations, American offers nonstop flights from JFK to 17 destinations in Latin America, Mexico and the Caribbean, as well as to Bermuda and Tokyo. American's regional affiliate, American Eagle, provides nonstop service from JFK to Halifax, Nova Scotia and Montreal, and will begin nonstop flights to Toronto in July.
