You won’t even realize you’re burning calories while having fun in Warren County
June 2006 – LEBANON, OH – Plan to have fun and get healthy at the same time. The Warren County Convention & Visitors Bureau (WCCVB) invites all outdoor enthusiasts to experience our natural wonders. In the process, they’ll enjoy how fit they are and better they’ll feel while playing outside.
A fun getaway that also gives you a healthy boost, is the best gift you can give yourself and your family.
Just north of Cincinnati, this scenic southwest Ohio area offers a variety of the BEST family outdoor fun with soft adventure activities and natural beauty.
Lace up your hiking boots or sneakers for an awe-inspiring journey along the naturally preserved sections of the 70+ mile paved and shaded path of the Little Miami Scenic Bike Trail. Most of the path lies within Warren County overlooking the Little Miami River, providing a fantastic hiking, biking, horseback riding or Rollerblading trail that has attracted visitors from around the country. Located just off the trail are a number of bed and breakfast spots, and convenient access to dining and shopping in quaint towns and villages.
The Little Miami River is nationally recognized as one of the Top Ten Scenic Rivers in the U.S. Rent a canoe, raft or kayak; stroll the banks looking for wild flowers; plan a picnic; or pull out the binoculars and go bird-watching for species indigenous to our area. There are many opportunities to appreciate the environmental significance of this local water gem on a river excursion with trained ecology lovers.
For the more adventurous, try Morgan’s Rock!, a safe rock-climbing experience at Morgan’s Canoe and Outdoor Center. The experience is designed for up-to three climbers at one time, offering three levels of difficulty.
Caesar Creek State Park features 10,000 acres of mature forests and a 2,830-acre lake for boating and fishing. Picnics among the trees, swimming, fossil hunts, nature hikes and bird-watching are just a few of the ways to appreciate this natural setting.
Give your body healthy fuel with organic foods deliciously prepared at local eateries. Making their own specialties with fresh (and vegetarian) products are: Cobblestone Café in Waynesville, Lebanon’s Copperfield’s Coffee Café or Gourmet on Broadway, and Wild Oats in Mason.
The bottom line is to get healthy, get out and have fun in our backyard. It’s a big county - come out and play!
