IRVING, Texas, Feb. 2 /PRNewswire/ — Omni Hotels continues its growth and expansion in the luxury hotel market with the purchase of two distinguished properties in San Antonio, the landmark La Mansion del Rio Hotel and the award-winning Watermark Hotel & Spa. The transaction is expected to close on March 16.
“We are delighted to add these properties to our portfolio given their fine heritage and exceptional reputation for outstanding quality and service,” said Jim Caldwell, CEO of Omni Hotels. “We believe they extend our luxury hotel brand and exemplify our commitment to delivering an exceptional experience to our customers.”
The two hotels will join Omni’s portfolio of luxury hotels and resorts, long recognized for high standards. Omni’s properties are commonly linked by four-diamond amenities and superior service. In fact, more than 80 percent of Omni Hotels are rated AAA Four Diamond or higher. The company is frequently recognized by top consumer research organizations such as J.D. Power and Associates, which ranked Omni as “Highest in Guest Satisfaction Among Upscale Hotel Chains” in its 2005 North America Hotel Guest Satisfaction Index Study(SM).* Like the Watermark Hotel & Spa, several Omni properties have been featured in leading magazines such as Conde Nast Traveler. Most recently, the magazine’s readers placed the Omni Mandalay Hotel at Las Colinas on the 2006 Gold List of the World’s Best Places to Stay.
The decision to purchase the two popular San Antonio hotels stems from Omni’s aggressive approach to expansion. The company’s development mission is to build or acquire properties in top business and leisure destinations.
