On Command First VOD Provider to Launch Time-Shifted Content to Hotels

Leading In-Room Entertainment Company Expands Its Just Missed TV(TM) Offering in the Time-Shifted On-Demand Arena

DENVER, March 21 /PRNewswire/ — On Command Video Corporation, a leading provider of in-room interactive entertainment for the hotel industry and its guests, announced the expansion of its Just Missed TV offering, originally launched in December 2004 with the airing of American Chopper from the Discovery Channel. Subsequent to the original programming launch, On Command also reached an agreement with Showtime Networks whereby two of Showtime’s extremely successful series, “L Word” and “Fat Actress,” have been added to On Command’s time-shifted line-up. On Command’s technology enables this highly sought after programming to be made available to hotel guests within two hours after its original air time, unlike some other technologies which require up to 24 hours for content delivery to the hotel.

“It is important for us to maintain our reputation as the leading technology provider in the on-demand entertainment category,” said Chris Sophinos, president and chief executive officer for On Command. “Just Missed TV demonstrates our commitment to provide the best in-room entertainment using our state-of-the-art technology and satellite-delivered content.”

“On Command is proud to be the first in-room VOD provider to bring time-shifted on-demand television content to hotels,” said Tad Walden, senior vice president of marketing and programming. “We originally presented this concept at HITEC in June 2004. This type of content will be a great addition to our VOD business, and as other in-room entertainment providers follow our lead and secure this type of content, it will benefit the entire hospitality industry.”
