Oneworld Makes Travel Easy for Groups

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, July 25 /PRNewswire/ — Group travelers flying on oneworld Alliance airlines can now use three of the alliance’s most popular fare types, further enhancing the number of oneworld fare products available to consumers around the globe.

The three fare types now eligible for group travel are the oneworld Explorer Fare — a round-the-world fare — and two versions of the oneworld Circle Fare, which enable passengers to fly to the other side of the world and back without actually circumnavigating the globe. Previously, these fares had only been available to individual travelers.

The three fares can now be used by parties of between 10 and 30 passengers in Economy Class, or between 10 and 15 in Business Class. All three fares continue to be eligible for individual bookings as well.

oneworld Explorer is one of the most attractive round-the-world fares available, with its pricing based on the number of continents visited, rather than the exact mileage flown. This makes planning trips easy and flexible.

oneworld Circle Fares make planning multi-sector, intercontinental journeys both easy and affordable. Two versions are available — for exploring the continents bordering the Pacific Ocean, or for seeing Africa in conjunction with two other oneworld continents.

All three of these fares feature flights on the alliance’s eight existing member airlines and their 12 affiliates, who together serve more than 600 destinations in approximately 135 countries. The oneworld network will be expanded by nearly 100 more destinations in 2007 when three more airlines join the alliance — Japan Airlines, Malev Hungarian and Royal Jordanian.

oneworld’s current members include some of the biggest and best in the airline industry, all renowned for the quality of their customer service, including Aer Lingus, American Airlines, British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Finnair, Iberia, LAN and Qantas.

Because of the nature of these products, online bookings are not currently available.

About oneworld

oneworld brings together some of the best and biggest names in the airline business — American Airlines, British Airways, Qantas, Iberia, Cathay Pacific, LAN, Finnair and Aer Lingus, plus their dozen affiliates. Japan Airlines, Malev and Royal Jordanian will join the alliance early next year.

The alliance enables its members to offer their customers more services and benefits than any airline can provide on its own. These include a broader route network, opportunities to earn and redeem frequent flyer miles and points across the combined oneworld network, and more airport lounges. oneworld is the only alliance to enable passengers to fly throughout its network, on any combination of carriers, using just electronic tickets.
