PORTLAND, Ore., Sept. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- The Oregon Culinary Tourism Association today announces the release of the first comprehensive culinary-themed travel guide ever published for a U.S. state. The 48 page, full color, digest size booklet welcomes visitors to "Come to your five senses...in Oregon," reminding readers that cuisine is the only art form that speaks to the five human senses (sight, sound, smell, taste, touch) and has a greater chance to make long-lasting memories than other forms of culture or recreation.

The Oregon Culinary Escapes guide is a one-of-a-kind compilation of the best eating and drinking experiences in Oregon, and lists several of the state's best restaurants and wineries and unique tours and trails (such as a chocolate lover's tour and the "Oregon Ale Trail." The guide is also peppered with information about cooking schools, unique local foods, discounted lodging packages, and interesting articles and factoids. The guide has content suitable for leisure travelers, meeting and convention groups, as well as packaged tour operators.

Todd Davidson, CEO of Travel Oregon, the state's tourism office, said, "Oregon has always been a pioneering state with so many of its policies and programs. Oregonians are dreamers, but we're also doers. So we're proud to be the first U.S. state to publish a culinary travel guide. We are excited about the potential for this beautiful first edition of the Oregon Culinary Escapes Guide. The guide will continue to set Oregon apart as a unique and memorable visitor destination, not just for leisure travelers, but also for international visitors, meeting/event planners and motorcoach operators."
