Oregon State Fair Enjoyed a Season of Success and Looks Ahead to 2007

SALEM, Ore., Sept. 12 /PRNewswire/ — This year, the Oregon State Fair, proved that a little redesign, renovation, and reinvention could go a long way, as official numbers show that daily attendance improved 10% from previous years. As state fairs across the nation are experiencing a struggle to stay relevant in today’s changing culture, the Oregon State Fair augmented its programs and services to appeal to fairgoers of all ages, backgrounds, and interests and as a result, enjoyed steady attendance all 11 days.

By bringing back big name concerts and offering free live performances, free parking, and expanded food and wine events, the Oregon State Fair enticed Oregonians with even more tantalizing reasons to take a road trip to the fair. In 2007, the Oregon State Fair will be back with added excitement as the Fair offers each of the regions of Oregon the chance to participate in the “7 Wonders of Oregon,” an expansive, interactive exhibit showcasing the unique features each region has to offer.

Visitor surveys conducted throughout the days of the Fair showed that the top features attracting Oregonians to the event included the concerts, carnival rides, retail booths, livestock displays, Oregonian arts and crafts, and competitions. The Fair also offers enjoyment for individuals of all ages, as the majority of fairgoers rated the level of fun at the Fair a 4 or 5 out of 5.
