Visitors Treat Their Palates and Wallets During Orlando’s Magical Dining Month

ORLANDO, Fla., Aug. 16 /PRNewswire/ — Dining out has always been an enjoyment shared by friends and families around the world not only when in their hometowns, but also when traveling. According to the Travel Industry Association of America (TIA — www.tia.org), tourists spend more money on dining out than on lodging, shopping or sightseeing and almost half report that dining out is the most popular activity after reaching their destination. The National Restaurant Association (www.restaurant.org) also reports that more than two-thirds of table service restaurants say tourism is important to their business, and many travelers find restaurants a vital part of their trips; enjoying great meals while making the travel-and-tourism industry an economic powerhouse. Orlando is known for world-class attractions and resorts, now visitors can try a different world-class aspect. As Orlando’s tastes are evolving and the destination is offering more diverse dining opportunities, the Orlando Convention & Visitors Bureau (Orlando CVB) in conjunction with the Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association (FRLA) will highlight the area’s many fine dining establishments during the first-ever Orlando’s Magical Dining Month, September 2006.

From September 1-30, visitors to participating Orlando area restaurants will have the opportunity to experience special prix fixe menus featuring the restaurant’s most innovative culinary creations. A unique three-course meal including appetizer, entree and dessert will be offered to customers at a fixed price of $29 for dinner and $17 for lunch (restaurants participating in both lunch and dinner may vary). Visitors to participating restaurants need simply contact the restaurant to secure a reservation and, upon arrival, request the restaurant’s Magical Dining menu in order to take advantage of this offer.

The dining month concept has been a phenomenal success in many other locations around the country including Miami, Atlanta and New York City. The program attracts diners who are drawn to the opportunity to sample exquisite meals at restaurants they might not normally visit.

Restaurants participating in Orlando’s Magical Dining Month include Amura, Cala Bella, Chez Vincent, Ciao Italia Ristorante, Emeril’s Orlando, Emeril’s Tchoup Chop, Enzo’s on the Lake, Everglades, Fulton’s Crab House, Jack’s Place, Jardins Restaurant, Journey’s, Ming Court, Old Hickory Steakhouse, Pearl Steakhouse, Plantation Room, Portobello Yacht Club, Salsa Taqueria, Samba Room, Sunset Sam’s at Gaylord Palms Resort, The Capital Grille, Timpano Chophouse and Ultra Luce Ristorante Italiano.
