(Whistler, B.C.) --- Consistently rated amongst the best resorts in Canada as well as globally, Pan Pacific Whistler Mountainside was once again named the number one resort in all of Canada in Conde Nast Traveler’s 19th Annual Readers’ Choice Awards and has also earned the distinction as the number five resort worldwide. Opened in December 1997, Pan Pacific Whistler Mountainside received this coveted honor in 1999 as well. Another unique attribute to this year’s Readers’ Choice Awards is that all three of the top resorts in Canada are in Whistler. In addition to Pan Pacific Whistler Mountainside, Four Seasons, Whistler and Westin Resort, Whistler ranked number two and three, respectively.

Jim Douglas, General Manager for Pan Pacific Whistler Mountainside and Pan Pacific Whistler Village Centre comments, “It is a great honor to be amongst the best properties in the world. In addition to our superior location, accommodations and amenities, it is the gracious team of associates that make our guests feel welcome every time they visit. We are also proud to acknowledge that our sister property, Pan Pacific Vancouver, was recently recognized as one of Conde Nast Traveler’s 2006 Top Ten Business Hotels.”

Conde Nast Traveler celebrates the 19th annual Readers' Choice Awards, with results that are derived from the largest independent poll of consumers' preferences, second in size only to the U.S. Census. With over 21,000 travelers voting this year, the lists show an even greater global variety and depth. The complete results of the awards can be found in the November issue. Conde Nast Traveler has a circulation of over 750,000 and is published by Conde Nast Publications, Inc.
