The days of paying and booking your accommodation before you head off travelling and then having to stick to it are over for today’s independent traveller. The PLUSPASS offers prepayment and the flexibility to book and change your mind without penalty whilst you’re travelling.

The Pass offers 10 nights of accommodation that are usable in any Plus Pass destination. Unlike any other Pass currently on sale the PlusPass is completely web driven and does away with the cumbersome travel service voucher.

Customers have a choice of two passes. Plus Italy gives the customer 10 nights to use in any of 13 locations throughout Italy. Or the Customer may choose Plus Europe which also has 10 nights worth of accommodation, but has a choice of 41 locations throughout Europe. Both Passes come with an additional 2 free bonus nights to be used in Italy.

The Passes have been designed to be up sold with Eurail, Interail and Busabout passes allowing Travel Agents to claw back some of the revenue lost to the booking engines.

So what is the attraction to the customer? The customer can buy the pass when they book their travel before they leave home allowing them to spend their hard earned cash on the cool activities that Europe has to offer.

The pass gives the customer guaranteed beds saving on bank fees- one payment one charge, value for money hostels and pass holder deals to save even more money.

Besides offering accommodation, Plus is currently working on a platform to bring added value to the Pass by offering pass holder’s preferential prices and deals with Europe’s leading Transport, Accommodation Cultural and Activity operators.

“It’s kind of like a debit card for accommodation,” says Grant Currie, marketing Director for Plus. Once the pass is purchased the customer is issued with a unique personal number. The customer simply logs into the Plus Pass website, books their desired accommodation, turns up on the arrival day, checks in, checks out and leaves, no cash changes hands.

Additionally the once the customer logs into the site they can cancel their nights booked, change their booking, upgrade their pass, top up their number of nights and change the ownership of the pass.

Hostel Owners love the pass as PlusPass manages allocations, content on the provider’s behalf and has the facility of providing instant payment on guest departure. An added attraction of placing an allocation with PlusPass is that the allocation also placed in the GDS provided by Travelfat so that any unused allocation has a double opportunity of being sold via affiliates and Travel Agents
