Extra, Extra ... Read All About It! The Pennsylvania Convention Center and Philadelphia Convention & Visitors Bureau Launch Joint Customer Newsletter
PHILADELPHIA, April 6 /PRNewswire/ -- "Front & Center," the first customer newsletter of the Pennsylvania Convention Center (PCC) and the Philadelphia Convention & Visitors Bureau (PCVB), debuts this week.
The newsletter, a result of recommendations from the PCVB Customer Advisory Board, will have several sections geared towards customers. The sections will include: a cover story; sales update; current economic impact; insider tips for the customer; recipe from ARAMARK, the in-house caterer; PCC employee feature; and a neighbor in the hospitality community feature.
"'Front & Center' was developed to provide our customers and stakeholders with information and insight into the inner workings of the PCC," said Dittie Guise, Chief Operating Officer at the PCC. "The focus of the newsletter is to communicate the positive changes that have taken place at the PCC, since the Customer Satisfaction Agreement came into effect."
"'Front & Center' will provide important information on the meeting and convention business in Philadelphia. In addition, this newsletter shows the alignment of the PCVB and PCC in thought and deeds to better serve our customers," said Jack Ferguson, Executive Vice President, Convention Division of the PCVB. "Dittie is doing a tremendous job aligning the staff and unions within the PCC to meet the needs of our customers."
The cover story of the premiere issue of 'Front & Center' is the planned expansion of the PCC. With expansion, due for completion in December 2008, the PCC will boast the largest contiguous exhibit space in the Northeast and largest convention center ballroom in the Mid-Atlantic region.
The Pennsylvania Convention Center is 1.3 million square feet, with 440,000 square feet of exhibit space, including 315,000 square feet of contiguous exhibit space; a 31,512-square-foot ballroom; 34,960-square-foot Grand Hall; and a second 125,120-square-foot exhibit hall. The Grand Hall, which is built into the historic Victorian building that was once the Reading Railroad Train Shed, is a dramatic one-of-a-kind space with a majestic arched ceiling. The facility, which is adorned with an award-winning art collection, is located in the heart of Philadelphia within walking distance of first-class hotels, restaurants, museums and the historic district.
