The Pointer Sisters Bring Their Grammy-winning Sound To Nassau
Plantation, FL - September 11, 2006 - Cable Beach Resorts & Crystal Palace Casino, the Bahamas' premier entertainment destination resort, presents The Pointer Sisters on Saturday and Sunday, November 11 and 12 at the Wyndham Nassau Resort's Rainforest Theatre.
Celebrated for numerous chart-toppers, including I'm So Excited, Slow Hand, Should I Do It, Yes We Can-Can, and He's So Shy, The Pointer Sisters' diverse songbook cuts across an array of musical genres including rhythm and blues, jazz, soul, funk, disco, rock and even country. Their hit, Fairytale, earned the sisters a Grammy Award for "Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group" as they became the first black female singers to perform at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville (1974). The sisters also received Grammy Awards for their hits Automatic and Jump (For My Love) and made history in 1984 on Billboards Hot 100 when they achieved four "Top 10 Singles" in a row for their musical masterpieces, Jump (For My Love), Automatic, Neutron Dance (from the Beverly Hills Cop Soundtrack) and a re-release of I'm So Excited. In 1994, The Pointer Sisters were recognized for their musical talents with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
