New 'Crystal Private Adventures' Makes Guests the Master and Commander of Their Shoreside Experience

LOS ANGELES, April 3 /PRNewswire/ -- From iPods and TiVo to the ubiquitous morning coffee, savvy consumers are getting used to customizing their experiences. In keeping with the trend, Crystal Cruises has launched "Crystal Private Adventures" to further personalize its guests' shore experience. In connection with its luxurious worldwide cruises, a dedicated team of travel experts is available to create highly customized excursions ashore for individuals and groups seeking a more intimate perspective of a particular destination.

With the utmost attention to choice and service, the Crystal Private Adventures specialists will accommodate everything from personalized arrangements for a family reunion wanting to trace its heritage to a private chartered yacht from Sorrento to Capri to celebrate an anniversary. The service may be pre-reserved online, by fax or by phone.

"We want our guests' experience of a destination to be exactly what they want," says John Stoll, Crystal's director of land programs. "A Crystal traveler can be the captain and designer of his or her own unique adventure."

From the simple to the elaborate, the Crystal Private Adventures team handles each request with attention to detail. Guests or their travel agents can have an itinerary in mind fulfilled or work with a specialist to create a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Consider, for example, the possibilities in St. Petersburg, Russia:

* Start the day with a private tour of the Hermitage museum. Savor lunch and cocktails at the Grand Duke Vladimir's Palace, served by ultra-swank caterers Potel & Chabot. Enjoy an afternoon private cruise along St. Petersburg's rivers and canals followed by a stop at St. Isaac's Cathedral. Relax and refresh back on Crystal Serenity. Later take a private car to the Marriinsky Theatre for a performance of opera and ballet with privileged seating in President Putin's box, followed by dinner in a private dining room.

Crystal Private Adventures is offered to guests already booked on a Crystal cruise for a nominal $100 non-refundable charge, due upon receipt of request. If the guest accepts the personalized shore program, the service fee is applied to the booking. There are three convenient ways to pre-reserve a Crystal Private Adventure:

1. Website. Visit http://www.crystalcruises.com and click on "Crystal Private Adventures" under the Crystal Adventures (shore excursion) tab. Guests complete the online form and e-mail it directly to PrivateAdventures@crystalcruises.com.

2. Fax. A Crystal Private Adventures form is included in the 90-day preliminary documents sent to all guests, with a direct return fax number to the Crystal Private Adventures desk.

3. Telephone. The Crystal Private Adventures desk may be reached at 1-866-446-6625 for guests wishing to discuss details of their dream adventure. All verbal requests must then be confirmed in writing via email or fax.

Details of each Crystal Private Adventure are shared with the respective ship in advance of sail date, and guests receive a confirmed agenda and tour tickets upon boarding.

At Crystal Cruises, the choices ashore are greater than ever. Crystal Private Adventures is just one of the many options for guests' experience of a destination. The luxury line offers comprehensive destination tours and limited participation boutique excursions as well as very private highly customized adventures. With its worldwide itineraries, Crystal Cruises offers more than 1,200 Crystal Adventures -- an enriching collection of active and cultural shore excursions for today's most discriminating travelers.

The Crystal Difference

Cruising the world, the 1,080-guest, 68,000-ton Crystal Serenity and the 940-guest, 50,000-ton Crystal Symphony are distinguished by classic service, abundant space, exceptional quality, and extensive choices. Their unique size allows for smooth sailing and a wide range of innovative facilities, generous amenities and elegant accommodations.

In the February 2006 issue of Conde Nast Traveler, Crystal Serenity and Crystal Symphony were awarded with the coveted No. 1 and No. 2 spots in the magazine's 6th annual "Best Cruise Ships in the World" readers' poll. For the past ten consecutive years, Crystal Cruises has been voted "World's Best Large-Ship Cruise Line" by the readers of Conde Nast Traveler and Travel + Leisure magazines -- the only cruise line, resort or hotel to have achieved such distinction.
