Kick off the holiday season with elegance and tradition at the Queen Mary's 12th Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony on December 7th, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Admission to the ship is free after 4:30 p.m. This event is the perfect opportunity to bring the whole family to celebrate the season on board the historic ocean liner. The program, presented on the Sun Deck Stage at the stern of the ship, will feature performances by the International Children's Choir of Long Beach and the Flowing Wells Junior High School Choir, from Tucson Arizona. Complimentary refreshments will also be provided. Queen Mary President Joseph Prevratil and Councilwoman Jackie Kell will flip the switch at approximately 7:00 p.m. to light the fabulous tree, marking the beginning of the holiday season.
The Queen Mary is offering special Christmas Day menus in its three award-winning restaurants: Sir Winston's, Chelsea and Promenade Cafe. Executive Chef Thierry Ruaux will prepare exquisite menu selections that are sure to satisfy. Guests can enjoy fine wines and spirits as well as impeccable service and breathtaking views of the Long Beach coastline.
Sir Winston's, the Queen Mary's Zagat award-winning restaurant, will serve a prix fixe Christmas Dinner from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The special Christmas Day menu is $45.00 for adults and $11.95 for children ages four through eleven, plus tax and gratuity. The Chelsea restaurant is offering special Christmas Day dining from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. featuring a variety of gourmet specialties in an elegant setting. The Promenade Cafe luncheon and dinner menus will be served from 11:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. In addition, a special Christmas Dinner at the Promenade Cafe will be served from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. The dinner is $25.00 for adults and $9.00 for children ages four through eleven.
