New World Class Thrill Ride Debuts at Valleyfair Santa Claus First Official Rider
MINNEAPOLIS, Dec. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- With the temperature near zero degrees Fahrenheit and the wind chill even colder, Santa Claus took flight on Xtreme Swing -- the first operational ride of its kind in the world at Valleyfair Amusement Park.
Xtreme Swing is an air-launched super swing set designed by S & S Worldwide Inc., based in Logan, Utah. Xtreme Swing is the company's first 40-passenger swing ride. Ride motion is that of a pendulum, suspended from an axle, swinging in an arc, back and forth -- just like a child's playground swing; except this ride takes you higher -- up to 125 feet in the air and faster -- up to 60 miles per hour.
With more than 75 rides and attractions, Valleyfair is the largest amusement park in the upper Midwest. This is the first ride in the park's 29-year history to debut in the winter.
Valleyfair is owned and operated by Cedar Fair, L.P., a publicly traded partnership that is listed for trading on The New York Stock Exchange under the symbol "FUN." In addition to Valleyfair, Cedar Fair owns and operates six other amusement parks, five water parks and one indoor water park resort.
