Millions more RVs are hitting the road this year according to the Recreational Vehicle Industry Association. Indeed, today nearly 8 million households – or one in 12 vehicle-owning households – owns an RV and that number is expected to reach 8.5 million by the year 2010.

With all that time on the road, it can be difficult to stay connected – not just to family and friends, but to your financial commitments (and bank accounts) back home.

Fortunately, Bank of Internet USA, an FDIC-insured Internet-only savings bank, has launched a new online community banking site, http://www.MyRVBank.com, enabling RVers to open, manage and view their accounts online anytime, anywhere in the country.

No waiting in lines or searching around for a bank branch or ATM: Deposits can be made via direct deposit or through the mail via free, postage-paid envelopes, and withdrawals can be made by check, ATM or free bill pay. Bank of Internet will even reimburse customers up to $8 per month on non-bank ATMs.

Bank of Internet has even hired RV owner and freelance writer Tim McWhorter to develop content for the new site and chronicle his travels in a blog while he is on the road.

Tim is in Rocky Mountain National Park right now banking online. Where are you?
