New Double Shot Thrill Ride Launching Saturday, March 19 at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk
SANTA CRUZ, Calif., March 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Thrill seekers will be blasting skyward at 3Gs on Saturday, March 19 aboard the new 125 ft. tall Double Shot tower ride at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk.
Offering spectacular views of the Coast at hair-raising speed, the Double Shot, the first new major thrill ride at the Boardwalk since the Hurricane roller coaster was added in 1992, opens to the public just in time for Spring Break. Students and their families will be among the first riders ever to be harnessed in and launched 12 stories up and 12 stories down aboard the four-sided Double Shot.
Double Shot riders will be astonished as they shoot to the top of the ride at 3Gs for fabulous views of Santa Cruz and Monterey Bay as far as the eye can see and then experience the weightlessness of negative G forces as they are shot back down.
"This will be a very popular ride, and a new type of rider experience for the Boardwalk," said Marq Lipton, vice president of the Santa Cruz Seaside Co., owners and operators of the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. "It's the perfect seaside ride, and people will be thrilled by the rush as well as the view."
The West Coast's only seaside amusement park features more than 35 rides plus attractions, including the world famous 1924 Giant Dipper roller coaster. This historical landmark is located on the warm sandy shores of Santa Cruz.
The admission-free Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk celebrates its 98th season as a truly unique California experience. It is located at 400 Beach Street, Santa Cruz, CA 95060. Call 831-423-5590 or visit our web site at http://www.beachboardwalk.com.
