Shanghai Becomes Latest Jewel in the American Airlines Worldwide Network

FORT WORTH, Texas, March 23 /PRNewswire/ — American Airlines launches daily nonstop service from Chicago O’Hare International Airport to Shanghai Pu Dong International Airport in Shanghai, China on April 2, 2006. Shanghai becomes the latest destination added to American’s growing international network.

The daily nonstop flight will depart Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport at 11:05 a.m. and arrive at Shanghai’s Pu Dong International Airport at 2:15 p.m. the following day, local time. Returning, American’s flight departs Shanghai at 4:25 p.m., arriving in Chicago at 5:00 p.m. of the same day, local time.

American’s Boeing 777-200 flight features 16 award-winning, customer- favorite Flagship Suite seats in First Class. Each Flagship Suite transforms into a fully flat six-foot, six-inch bed for easier access and more sleeping space. In addition, each suite features privacy dividers, power ports, leather headrests and other comforts designed to enhance the travel experience. Power ports are also available at every seat in Business Class and at selected seats in the Main Cabin.

American’s award-winning International Flagship Service features a wide- range of dining, beverage and entertainment options. A special menu featuring both Chinese- and Western-inspired selections was designed for the route by U.S.-based Chinese chefs and American employees.

From Shanghai, American will offer several city connections within China through its long-standing partnership with Shanghai’s largest airline, China Eastern Airlines. In addition, passengers can connect in Chicago to more than 100 destinations served with nonstop flights by American and American Eagle.
