London, 5 April/GNN/ --

FOREIGN AND COMMONWEALTH OFFICE News Release issued by the Government News
Network on 5 April 2005
The Foreign Office today revised its Travel Advice for Sierra Leone. We are
no longer advising against travel to areas of Sierra Leone bordering Liberia
due to improvements in the security situation.

The summary for the travel advice reads:

* Visits to the Western area of Sierra Leone, including Freetown, are
usually trouble free. Travel outside the Western Area can be difficult,
as roads and infrastructure are poor.

* Petty crime is common. You should take sensible precautions and maintain
a high level of vigilance in public places.

* The threat from terrorism is low.

* We strongly recommend that you obtain comprehensive travel and medical
insurance before travelling.
