an Indoor Waterpark Glides Into Action

LAKE GEORGE, N.Y., Feb. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Six Flags President and CEO Mark Shapiro officially christened the opening of the first hotel with an indoor waterpark in New York State on Tuesday when he and Bugs Bunny(TM) activated the Tall Timbers Treehouse, the massive multi-level play structure that will serve as the centerpiece of the indoor waterpark known as White Water Bay.

Located across from The Great Escape & Splashwater Kingdom near Exit 20 of Interstate 87, the Six Flags Great Escape Lodge & Indoor Waterpark will serve as a visitor gateway to the Adirondack region. The Lodge is expected to redefine the family vacation experience, particularly for winter guests who will be able to ski the nearby Adirondack Mountains and enjoy the 80-degree tropical setting of the Lodge's indoor waterpark -- all in the same day!

"The Six Flags Great Escape Lodge & Indoor Waterpark is the perfect family vacation spot," general manager Dan Williams said. "It is unprecedented for travelers to the Adirondack region to enjoy a ski vacation in conjunction with a day at the beach, but that is just what our guests will find at New York State's first combination hotel and indoor waterpark. All year round, our guests will find great value, comfortable lodging and the best in family entertainment right here at the Six Flags Great Escape Lodge & Indoor Waterpark."

Open year-round, the property features 200 suites with a 38,000-square foot indoor waterpark. The décor of the Six Flags Great Escape Lodge & Indoor Waterpark reflects the hotel and waterpark's Adirondack setting and includes a grand Adirondack-style lobby with exposed wood beams and a dramatic floor to ceiling stone fireplace.

Other amenities include a spa, called Serenity at the Lodge, where guests can avail themselves of such services as massage therapy, skin care treatments, sea salt scrubs, steam therapy and Reiki, a holistic relaxation therapy.

The Six Flags Great Escape Lodge & Indoor Waterpark will be serviced by the Trapper's Adirondack Grille, formerly the Adirondack Coach House restaurant, which will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner.

The Lodge will feature entertaining activities designed for children and families. Every Sunday, the Lodge will offer breakfast with the legendary Looney Tunes(TM) characters including Bugs Bunny and his Looney Tunes pals. There will also be arts and crafts, games, scavenger hunts and daily bedtime story times for children with the various Looney Tunes characters.

The focal point of the property is White Water Bay, the indoor waterpark that includes eight primary attractions and is located on the lower lobby level of the facility. The air and water temperatures within White Water Bay will remain at a balmy 80 degrees, year round. The signature attraction within White Water Bay is a massive multi-level play structure that boasts nearly 160 interactive elements and is called the Tall Timbers Treehouse. The Treehouse includes a giant wooden bucket that spills water onto guests below, and two body slides that connect with the activity play lagoon.

The property also features extensive meeting facilities, gift shops, a tavern overlooking the waterpark and an arcade.

The Lodge is offering a special, introductory rate of $189 per night for a limited number of four-person suites, subject to availability. The rate includes unlimited use of the indoor waterpark. The special offer is available through April 30, 2006, for a one-room family suite with two Queen-beds and a pull out sofa. Each of these suites can accommodate two extra guests for an additional $15 per person.
