Six Flags Theme Park Celebrates its 45th Anniversary with New Adventures for Everyone
This spring, the world’s largest regional theme park, Six Flags, is kicking off its 45th anniversary with a bang, introducing an all new family friendly adventure for everyone to come and experience. They’re calling it Six Flags Great Adventure. With the addition of exciting new rides, shows, animals, and guest service features, this new and improved park is sure to please families and kids of all ages.
In the park, parents and children can begin by exploring Bugs Bunny’s National Park, an all-new wilderness-themed children’s area devoted to the youngest thrill seekers. Families can enjoy the great outdoors with six new rides, an interactive water play feature, Bugs Bunny Wilderness Theater with a high-spirited show for kids, plus Looney Tunes Camp Kitchen with lots of kid-friendly treats, and daily character visits between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
The park has also stepped up its customer service features. "To deliver the best guest experience of any park anywhere, we must provide outstanding service in a safe, clean, family-friendly atmosphere," said Six Flags Great Adventure Vice President and General Manager Ron Sevart. "For example, we've instituted a non-smoking policy across all Six Flags parks to make walking through the park with your family a much more pleasant experience, and we have instituted universal training for our team members to ensure friendly, helpful and efficient service."
In addition, Six Flags is introducing a brand new 188 foot wooden roller coaster called: El Torro. The rides unique engineering, inspired by the agility and strength of the brave Matadors, features a hybrid design that blends the fast-charging drops of a classic out-and-back track with the highly banked turns of a deadly twister.
El Torro ranks among the tallest and fastest wooden roller coaters in the world. It features 4,400 feet of mountainous track, the second tallest, fastest and longest drop of all wooden coasters in America and the world's steepest drop on a wooden roller coaster: seventy-six degrees!
This spring, Six Flags Wild Safari’s has some new additions to the family of exotic animals already on display at the park. After a winter of birth, there are a variety of baby animals including Three African lion sisters, one endangered addax calf (African antelope), a fuzzy bison calf and three rambunctious black bear cubs. This spring, the park is expecting many more births including giraffes, yak, eland, and more.
