SkyScanner Launches New Flight Search Engine Skyscanner.net

(PRWEB) March 16, 2006 -- SkyScanner today launches the latest version of its award winning flight search engine, a free to use independent site enabling users to search across multiple airlines and compare flight prices for all budget airlines that serve the UK and Europe.
The first search engine which caters for users unsure of their destination, departure points or even travel dates, SkyScanner now offers the most advanced and fastest flight search engine on the internet – traditionally, travel sites require users to enter a raft of information before they are shown any flight options at all. With its latest release SkyScanner has redefined flight search.
“The new SkyScanner enhances user experience, utilising advances in search technology to provide instant, flight price information for cheap European flights,” says Barry Smith, one of the founders of SkyScanner. “It means users have all flight options at their fingertips, without the need for trawling the internet – we have improved usability and also put a lot of work into helping the browser research their trip, displaying prices even if all they know for certain is their departure country.”
“With the latest version we have taken online flight search to a new level and plan on continuing pushing the boundaries. We remain committed to unravelling the complexities of independent online travel.”
In addition to offering more flexibility, SkyScanner is now the fastest flight search engine, using cached information databases to return results instantaneously. After the user has selected a particular flight, SkyScanner offers a CheckPrice function which verifies the price and availability with the airline website to provide the ‘live’ price in seconds.
SkyScanner also provides more choice. Search for a country and not just an airport, search for a month and not just a date or simply search for a date and see which country is the cheapest. All search fields also now offer the ‘Any’ option, providing the perfect start to any internet flight search.
A new month calendar has been introduced to compliment SkyScanner’s unique graph view and a more integrated map function is also available.
Highly relevant, travel-related, sponsored links to alternative websites and consolidators also appear, ensuring users have access to scheduled and charter flights options.
Quick and easy to navigate, larger font, and search controls on every page ensures users can explore the site quickly and concisely, only being re-directed to the airline site to book once a decision has been made.
With searchers becoming more savvy, knowing exactly what they want and expect from their travel website, SkyScanner has worked closely with current customers to develop a site solely designed with the independent traveller in mind.
