ST. GEORGE, Utah, March 23 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — SkyWest Airlines (NASDAQ:SKYW) is pleased to announce that Regional Airline World magazine awarded the carrier “Regional Airline of the Year 2004.” The highly respected Regional Airline World Awards have been honoring achievements in the industry for over 10 years. The 2004 awards were presented at the IPEC LARA Conference & Exhibition, held in London, UK on March 8, 2005 where Jerry Atkin, Chairman, President and CEO of SkyWest, was also honored as a finalist in the Airline Executive of the Year category for the second year running.

SkyWest was awarded the “Regional Airline of the Year 2004″ award out of a pool of approximately 1,000 regional and low-cost airlines. Readers determine the awards through their votes and nominations. One reader commented that SkyWest deserved the award because the airline “continues to move forward with excellent customer service, safe and reliable operation, value for investors and profitability in a time when the airline industry is in great turmoil.”

Regional Airline World editor Bernie Baldwin remarked, “In some ways, this award for SkyWest Airlines is overdue. The airline has been achieving so much year after year and it is a credit to everyone at the airline that it continues to maintain the highest standards in a market with such fierce competition. I can only follow the feelings of our readership and add my heartiest congratulations.”
