South African Tourism Hits the Road
|
New York, NY, August 2006...South African Tourism is launching a brand new trade initiative, an exciting series of interactive workshops that will be conducted in eight cities across the USA, in partnership with more than 35 suppliers and operators, from September 12 - 21, 2006.
“This is our most important new trade initiative,” said Dr. Felicia Suttle, President, South African Tourism-USA. “The Roadshow presents a unique opportunity for agents to gain first hand knowledge of our destination, interacting with suppliers representing our nine diverse provinces who have traveled from South Africa expressly to meet with them. There are enormous opportunities for new business and high profit and our experts will show agents how to sell South Africa now. ”
Suppliers from a variety of sectors, including lodges and hotels, car rental agencies, the provincial tourism boards, US tour operators, South African Airways, which services the destination, and the Grading Council, will attend each workshop. These special workshops are designed to immerse agents in the destination, transporting them to a total South African experience, providing great new ideas and packages for selling the destination. The majority of these workshops will take place from 6:00PM - 9:00PM, with the exception of a breakfast workshop in Tampa from 7:30AM - 10:30AM. The format for each workshop will be a mini tradeshow followed by a seated dinner and an interactive AV presentation. South African wine, music, prizes… and surprises will be featured at each locale.
Agents must pre-register for the workshops by visiting http://www.tauniv.com and completing the fun and informative travel agent university module. Spaces are limited so participation in the South African Tourism Roadshow will be subject to availability.
