South Carolina's First Travelblog Premieres at SCTOURIST.com
(Columbia, S.C.) South Carolina’s first blog devoted exclusively to travel and tourism in the Palmetto State has been officially launched at http://www.sctourist.com.
The travelblog is the work of S.C. Tourist, the "nom de blog" of a Columbia-based writer, traveler, husband and father.
"I love South Carolina, and while I’ve traveled all over the world, my best travel memories are right here close to home," said Tourist. "Whether it’s picking apples in Long Creek, eating barbecue in the Pee Dee or sitting on the Grand Strand with my children, there’s no place a home away from home in South Carolina."
SCTourist.com will offer general news and information on tourism in South Carolina, but the heart of the site will be the personal observations of the site’s founder and other contributors.
"I’ll try to be 'S.C. Tourist' as long as possible because I want to give an unvarnished look at the best – and the not-so-good – that a traveler in our state will find,” said Tourist. "But, hey, I’m not above going on a media junket or two if the opportunity comes along!"
Travel destinations, industry professionals and insiders are invited to send materials to the site’s founder at sctourist@gmail.com - but Tourist says he is particularly interested in hearing from other travelers.
"I really want the site to be interactive, and that’s why I’ve chosen the blog format. It encourages participation and give-and-take. As the site takes off, I hope to add some open forums and invite other bloggers to join in," Tourist said.
