Ever Increasing Number of South Florida Concerts Point to SunFest as Region’s Top Live Music Value

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla., April 21 /PRNewswire/ — When SunFest began in 1983, the number of venues for live music was limited. Today, South Florida features numerous venues for concerts as well as other music festivals — from February 1 through the end of May, more than 60 concerts will occur in South Florida. 95% of these concerts and events feature acts that have appeared at or been considered by SunFest over the years. The difference? The price for the fan.

The average admission price for live music concerts offered to South Floridians this winter and spring was $30.34 per concert. The cost of an advanced one-day admission to SunFest — $17. By comparison, if a consumer were to purchase tickets to the 10 acts that recently appeared in the area that also performed at SunFest, the cost would be $464.99.

An advanced four-day pass to SunFest, which includes access to 21 national music acts and another two dozen local and regional performers, is just $35. In contrast, the average cost of a multi-day pass for other South Florida music festivals such as Langerado, Global Gathering, Ultra Music Festival and the Riviera Beach Jazz Festival was $68.50.

The SunFest Metro PCS, All Access party schedule for May 3 is another great SunFest value. Not just a concert, the evening includes complimentary food and drink, live music on the Captain Morgan’s Floating Oasis, dozens of street performers, door prizes, and two stage shows, including the headline performance by Kool & the Gang, for only $50. A recent Kool & the Gang concert-only ticket in Orlando was priced at $45.75.

Beyond the music, SunFest offers more than 170 artist exhibitors, Kidsfest at SunFest featuring dozens of free activities, a live daily dueling piano show, floating dance clubs, Nickelodeon’s Game Lab, Art Cars, 100+ varieties of food and drink, fireworks, the United States premier of Silent Disco, street performers, Sponge Bob, pedal boats and kayaks … all included in the price of admission.
