Stowe Offers Summer Family Fun!

Stowe, VT (June 28, 2006) As the school year comes to a close across the country, parents are faced with the perennial search for special ways to spend time together as a family. With gas prices continuing at record highs, finding the perfect option is a challenge.

In response to this, the businesses in Stowe, Vermont have come together with a creative package to help families get more for their travel dollars while offering a healthy serving of family fun with the Frugal Family Fun package.

"Research is showing that high prices at the gas pump are resulting in consumers seeking ways to economize not just on gas, but on accommodations and activities as well," states Valerie Rochon, Executive Director of the Stowe Area Association. "Families are demanding more value for their travel dollars than ever before and this package offers just that."

The Frugal Family Fun Package includes bed and breakfast accommodations for a family of four, a gift certificate for dinner at one of Stowe's family dining establishments, and a Stowe Area Association coupon book with discounts on shopping, dining and activities.

A broad range of Stowe properties are participating in this offer making a family trip to Stowe this summer affordable for any budget. The package is offered from June 21through August 31 and starts at $119/night for a family of four including continental breakfast.

In addition to its reputation for spectacular fall color, the best skiing in the East and year round outdoor adventure, Stowe also offers a number of special events and many of these are enjoyed in the summer months.

From a spectacular Balloon Festival to the world's largest Kaleidoscope festival and the country's shortest, but most quaint 4th of July Parade, many of Stowe's summer events are ideal for families. A drive up the famed Toll Road provides spectacular views from the top of Mt. Mansfield and ideal conditions for even the tiniest of hikers.

Stowe's scenic recreation path is ideal for family strolls or bike rides and there are a variety of places to stop and cool off in swimming holes along the river.

Get the thrill of gliding down the mountain on Stowe's Alpine Slide or enjoy a round of mini golf and finish the day with an ice cream cone or ice cream soda at an old fashioned malt shop. For a full list of events and things to do in Stowe, or to book a trip, visit http://www.gostowe.com.
