First Fridays Happen Every Month

The hippest place in Phoenix, at least on the first Friday of every month, is in the new arts district located in the heart Downtown Phoenix during the Artlink First Fridays event. First Fridays draw some 10,000 Phoenicians to the streets in the downtown area to look at art at some of the 50-plus studios and galleries found in the area. Although galleries and artist studios can be found all over downtown Phoenix, the two current main areas are in and around Roosevelt Street and Grand Avenue. Their intersection is now referred to as “Grandvelt” and is the center of this newly configured art world. The event begins around 7pm and free transportation is provided from the Burton Barr Library on Central Avenue.
