Portillo, Chile (PRWEB) July 13, 2006 -- Ski Portillo, the legendary Chilean resort, has received four feet of snow in four days, and the snow continues to fall on its South American slopes. New this year is an additional Va et Vient (“Coming and Going”) slingshot lift named Las Vizcachas, which accesses expert-only terrain in the Las Lomas ski area. The 2006 summer season is underway and runs through Oct. 7, 2006. Ski weeks begin at US$1,200 per person, including seven nights accommodation at Hotel Portillo, seven-day lift tickets, and four meals daily. Rates at the Octagon Lodge, a mid-level option for budget traveler, start at US$760 per person and include accommodations with four bunk beds and a private bathroom, meals in the Hotel Portillo dining room, and lift tickets. At the backpacker-style Inca Lodge, rates begin at US$490 per person per week for dorm-style accommodations, lift tickets and meals in the self-service restaurant.
