Bounty of Methow Valley Graces Sun Mountain Lodge Dining Room
WINTHROP, WA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 05/25/2005 -- The Sun Mountain Lodge has long been recognized as having one of the premier restaurants in Washington state. The multiple award winning Dining Room features a panoramic view of the Methow Valley where many of the menu ingredients are grown. Summer months highlight the bounty of farm-fresh produce, which is "incorporated into the menu of The Dining Room whenever possible," states Executive Chef Patrick Miller, who describes the menu as Northwest cuisine with subtle European influence. "Over recent years, local farmers have increased the number of varieties of so many products, and the results are simply amazing. Summer offers a celebration of taste for our guests," says Miller.
Fresh, locally grown morel mushrooms have taken center stage on the menu this spring, as well as watercress and spring asparagus. As the summer months rapidly approach, Miller and his staff will create dining room and catering menus featuring as many organic ingredients as are available. When speaking of locally grown fruit, Miller sites an example of a grower whose six types of peaches are 'beyond description.' "We are extremely proud to support small growers, and the difference in flavor is really significant," Miller explains.
The Dining Room serves breakfast and dinner seven days. Casual lunch and dinner is offered daily in the Wolf Creek Bar and Grill, featuring a wide array of family friendly choices.
The Sun Mountain Lodge is a 3,000-acre resort located in Winthrop, Washington, in the heart of the Methow Valley.
