Winners Will Learn How to Cook Authentic Italian Cuisine at Toscana Saporita Cooking School

SADDLE BROOK, NJ – A 15th century Tuscan villa, ten thousand olive trees, seventy acres of Italian countryside and culinary lessons at the famous Toscana Saporita Cooking School are all part of the grand prize package in De’Longhi’s “Taste of Tuscany” sweepstakes. De’Longhi, the Italian manufacturer of upscale kitchen electrics, announced today that it will award 14 lucky winners with a free weeklong trip for two to Italy to attend Toscana Saporita and explore the Tuscan countryside. From October 1 to November 30, contestants can enter to win at participating retailers, including Linens ’n Things, Macy’s, Sur La Table, Starbucks and Williams-Sonoma (online only), or online at www.delonghi-sweepstakes.com.

Included in the prize package, which is valued at $7,000, are roundtrip airline tickets for the winner and his or her guest; five days of culinary lessons; a private suite for two at Camporomano, the 70-acre hilltop estate which houses the cooking school; breakfast, lunch and dinner daily; guided tours every afternoon to locales such as Florence, Pisa and Lucca; and food and wine tastings. De’Longhi will host two trips to Tuscany, one the week of May 13, 2007, and the other the week of May 20, 2007. Seven winners and their guests will depart on each trip.

“The ‘Taste of Tuscany’ trip and the experience of studying Italian cuisine at Toscana Saporita will truly transform the winners’ kitchens into Italian trattorias,” said Paolo Cravedi, executive vice president of sales and marketing, De’Longhi USA. “This sweepstakes provides De’Longhi with the opportunity to share our rich Italian heritage with our customers in the United States.”

Located in the Tuscan province of Lucca, Toscana Saporita Cooking School’s instructional emphasis is focused on traditional Tuscan technique, innovative use of local ingredients and aesthetic presentation. Students also learn how to complement meals with the appropriate wines from the region. The school welcomes students of all culinary experience levels.
