Ted Expands Service to Leisure Destinations in Mexico and Florida
Expanded Service From Chicago to Cabo San Lucas and West Palm Beach
CHICAGO, Aug. 31 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Beginning this fall, Ted(SM), United Airlines' low-fare service, is expanding its network to two leisure destinations in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, and West Palm Beach, Fla. United is the only airline that offers nonstop service from Chicago to West Palm Beach on a yearly basis.
"Our customers want low-fare service to these popular beach destinations, and Cabo San Lucas and West Palm Beach are great additions to Ted's destinations," says Sean Donohue, vice president-Operational Services, United Express and Ted. "This expansion complements Ted's current leisure destinations to Florida and Mexico, and completes our 20 percent route expansion in 2005."
The Ted expanded routes include service from Chicago to:
-- Los Cabos (Cabo San Lucas), Mexico - Beginning Dec. 15, 2005, Ted will
offer four new nonstop flights (Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and
Sunday). Saturday service will begin Oct. 15, 2005.
-- West Palm Beach, Fla. - United mainline service will convert its
current Chicago - West Palm Beach route to Ted and offer daily nonstop
flights beginning Dec. 15, 2005.
Customers can connect to Cabo San Lucas through United's U.S. hubs in Denver and San Francisco. Service to West Palm Beach is accessible from the company's U.S. hub in Chicago, which offers connections to destinations throughout its global network.
To date, Ted has carried more than 12 million passengers, achieving a load factor greater than 82 percent for 2005. Daily flights have increased as well, from 20 flights per day in February 2004 to 220 daily flights today. Ted carries more than 27,000 customers each day to destinations across United's route network.
