Thomas, Townsend & Kent Launches Art Travel Guide
CHICAGO, IL -- (MARKET WIRE) -- August 08, 2006 -- Online publisher Thomas, Townsend & Kent (TTK), which offers popular e-magazines focusing on the interests of affluent Americans, has launched Art Travel Guide, a new publication for art lovers who enjoy traveling to attend important art events around the globe.
Each issue of Art Travel Guide spotlights a specific city and its noteworthy art fairs. The editorial also details museum exhibitions and recommendations for hotels and restaurants in the host city. Most of the fairs featured in the e-magazine include among their exhibitors many of the world's most prestigious galleries, including Matthew Marks Gallery of New York City; Marlborough, with several locations worldwide; and Thaddeus Ropac Galleries in Paris and Salzburg. Artwork showcased at these fairs include works by some of today's hottest artists, such as Lisa Ruyter, Damien Hirst, and Thomas Ruff, as well as modern masters from Pablo Picasso to Andy Warhol.
"Art and travel have gone hand in hand for centuries. In the past, American and European elite took 'The Grand Tour' to absorb art and culture, and that tradition has evolved into the mega-events of recent times, such as Documenta in Germany and the Venice Biennale," said Thomas Hart, Managing Director of Art Travel Guide. "With the rise of international art fairs and other important cultural events, it seemed natural that something like the Art Travel Guide would come into existence," Hart added.
Launched early this summer, Art Travel Guide has attracted nearly 160,000 readers. Those interested in receiving a free subscription to the e-magazine may register at http://www.arttravelguide.com, where sample issues can be viewed.
Upcoming issues of Art Travel Guide, published 24 times a year, will feature Miami Beach (for Art Basel Miami Beach, New Art Dealers Alliance Art Fair, Pulse, Aqua and others); Madrid (for ARCO); Maastricht, Netherlands (for TEFAF); and New York City (for The Armory Show and The Art Show).
Advertisers interested in sponsorship and advertising opportunities with Art Travel Guide should contact Hart at (312) 266-6400, ext. 109 or t.hart@arttravelguide.com.
