Tornado Touches Down in Western New York
Six Flags Darien Lake Opens New Waterpark Expansion
DARIEN CENTER, N.Y., May 31 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Officials have confirmed that a Tornado has touched down at Six Flags Darien Lake in the form of an enormous new extreme tubing ride. Park visitors should be prepared to ride the Ultimate Storm.
Tornado thrills guests as they start their excitement on a platform 75 feet in the air before plunging down a 132-foot long tunnel in a cloverleaf- shaped raft which navigates riders through a giant funnel, splashing back and forth on 5,000 gallons of swirling water. When riders arrive at the vortex of the Tornado, they are sent through the eye of the storm into a cool catch pool below. Tornado is a great experience to share with family and friends.
Tornado's unique design has received numerous accolades, including the amusement industry's 2003 Golden Ticket Award for Best Waterpark Ride and the IAAPA 2003 Best New Product Award in the Waterpark Category.
