Travel in Oregon This Fall to be Flavored by Oregon Bounty Products

PORTLAND, Ore., July 22 /PRNewswire/ — Visitors to more than 50 Oregon wineries, and nearly 75 lodging establishments and 70 restaurants, will taste the harvest during the entire month of November.

Called Oregon Bounty, the promotion is a month-long celebration of the Oregon’s wines, cheeses, hazelnuts and pears happening throughout the state — eastern, central, and southern Oregon, the Columbia River Gorge, Mt. Hood territory, the Willamette Valley, and the coast.

Wineries in all of the state’s wine growing regions will feature complimentary samplings of Oregon pears, cheeses and hazelnuts in their tasting rooms every weekend in November. In addition, special Oregon Bounty packages, rates and activities are available at a variety of lodging establishments, from sleek hotels in downtown Portland to rustic and romantic wine country inns. Restaurants throughout the state will feature Oregon Bounty products on their menus and during special events.

There are over 300 wineries and 400 vineyards in Oregon, producing some of the country’s best Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Syrah and Chardonnay. Oregon is also home to international award-winning creameries and artisan cheese makers. Recently named the state’s official fruit, pears are Oregon’s #1 tree fruit crop. Oregon’s Willamette Valley is home to 99 percent of the U.S. hazelnut industry.

The Oregon Bounty promotion is coordinated by Travel Oregon, the Brand Oregon initiative, Oregon Wine Board, Oregon Dairy Products Commission, Oregon Hazelnut Marketing Board, and Pear Bureau Northwest.
