Online Operator Bucks Downward Trend for Holidays in Spain
España Breaks.com has attracted it's millionth visitor despite a poor period for sales of holidays to Spain.
(PRWEB) September 20, 2006 -- The self-catering website España Breaks.com attracted it's millionth visitor in summer 2006, despite a poor period for holidays sales generally and an exodus of package holidaymakers from Spain.
Now in it's third year of operation, the company has seen continued high growth in visitor levels and enquiry levels. 437,000 holidaymakers used España Breaks Jan-Sep 2006, a 49% increase on the same period last year.
"Despite poor trading conditions generally, we attribute our growth to the movement away from packages towards self-service bookings," says Richard Speigal, Managing Director. "Self-catering specialists who trade direct have been the winners in this climate. Holidaymakers get higher quality and more freedom with this type of accommodation."
España Breaks allows agents and private owners to advertise holiday villas and apartments online for a fixed annual fee. Since this is free of any commission (either for the holidaymaker or accommodation provider) it's a very cost effective model. The service has already generated over 19,000 enquiries for it's advertisers this year - already surpassing enquiry levels for the whole of 2005.
