TripRewards Members Now Can Earn More Aeroplan Miles

PARSIPPANY, N.J., June 1 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — Frequent travelers who choose to earn Aeroplan miles for stays at TripRewards affiliated hotels now receive a minimum of 250 miles per qualified stay.

Under the new benefit, TripRewards members earn at least 250 Aeroplan miles for every hotel stay or two miles for every $1 (in U.S. currency) spent, whichever is greater.

Members of Aeroplan, billed as Canada’s premier loyalty program, can redeem their miles for reward travel to 795 destinations in 139 countries served by Air Canada and Star Alliance partner airlines.

Aeroplan members also can use their miles for rewards including car rentals, hotel stays and Air Canada Vacations packages and a suite of more than 300 “experiential” specialty rewards.

Featuring points-earning opportunities with more than 6,000 hotels and 50 partners as well as more than 150 point-redemption options, TripRewards is the world’s largest hotel loyalty program, based on the number of participating hotels.

Its more than 4 million members may elect to earn TripRewards points, airline miles including Aeroplan miles or rail points for stays at Super 8(R), Days Inn(R), Ramada(R), Howard Johnson(R), Travelodge(R), Knights Inn(R), Wingate Inn(R) or AmeriHost Inn(R) hotels.

The program’s “open earn” structure allows members faster access to point earning by staying in Cendant-franchised hotels, renting Avis(R) and Budget(R) rental cars and purchasing everyday products and services from earning partners.

Likewise, TripRewards members can redeem their points for either hotel stays — with no blackout dates — or partner rewards including airline tickets, resort vacations, electronics, home appliances, sporting goods, movie and theme park tickets and gift certificates from 46 retailers and restaurants.

A hassle-free online system allows members to check their point balance and redeem for rewards 24 hours a day.

Consumers can enroll online at or by visiting any Super 8, Days Inn, Ramada, Howard Johnson, Knights Inn, Wingate Inn or AmeriHost Inn hotel in the Unites States or Canada and any Travelodge in the United States, or by calling toll-free, (800) FOR-TRIP – (800) 367-8747.
